All Hallowsโ€™ Eve

the night when the veil between worlds is most thin

cinnamon leaves, candy apples sweet as sinโ€”

a knock on the door; you welcome it in.

laughter and screams, festivities begin.

porches glowing orange and howling in the wind.

disembodied voices usher the eerie night in.

now is the time for haunts to begin

enter the night of ether and cinnamon.
